Aaberg crafts resplendently hazy, melancholic bedroom jams that feel like stepping into a sepia-tinged, half-forgotten daydream. Having recently released his new album Jynx, we caught up with the rising lo-fi musician to find out a little more about him.
The project of South London multi-talented artist and musician Hunter Mockett, Aaberg’s sound offers a harmonious blend of glistening serenity tinged with lilting melancholia by way of meandering guitar lines, sparse beats and whispered vocals. Speaking on Jynx, his latest release following on from last year’s debut Albatross, Mockett expresses “A lot of it is trying to make sense of the swirling experiences life can involve. A lot of shattered or blossoming relationships told through different voices.”

If I could play a gig anywhere it would be…
In my old house in Manchester. We should have put on gigs there but never got it together.
I think you should listen to… (something other than yourself)
Free Lunch (https://fr33lunch.bandcamp.com/releases), Wilder (https://wilderr.bandcamp.com/album/buckethead) and Sprog (https://sprog.bandcamp.com/album/egobreadeggydeath-2). All three are insane projects

Aphex Twin, but just me and him in my room alone.
