Iris‘ new EP, the aptly named femme floral, is fully-formed, world-class pop. Picking up where debut, a sensitive being left off, it builds on the anthemic strings of her bow – chiefly via unforgettable lead single, ‘cotton candy’ – while elsewhere holding onto the texture and intimacy that separates her from the pack.

Hailing from Bergen, the small Norwegian city that begat Aurora and Sigrid to name but a couple, she this month won Årets Urørt, the country’s most prestigious newcomer award. Luckily for us, we’re treated to the best the nordic countries have to offer via the beautiful things that is Ja Ja Ja, right here on our doorstep. Ahead of iris’ appearance at their fifth birthday show this week, we’re getting to know her via our quickfire feature, In Short.
