TRACK OF THE WEEK

Arca – Mequetrefe

Following her two previous singles, ‘Nonbinary’ and ‘Time’, plus an extra-special collaboration with Shygirl for the #BlackLivesMatter movement, Arca is back with one last offering before revealing her highly-anticipated fourth album, KiCK i. ‘Mequetrefe’ dwells on “the tenderness behind expressing who you are without shame, and the confidence and bravery it requires, because expression of gender-nonconforming self-states in a public space can often result in static within your environment.”

From Jockstrap‘s ‘City Hell’ to IDLES‘s ‘Grounds’, we’re also featuring ‘American Cars’ by Annie and Phoebe Bridgers‘ ‘I Know The End’. Elsewhere, we’re bringing you Special Interest‘s ‘All Tomorrow’s Carry’, ‘Cry’ by Ashnikko, featuring Grimes, Hilary Woods‘ ‘N.I.B’, ‘Adored’ by Hatchie, Jex Opolis‘s ‘Listen to the Band’, The Fiery Furnaces‘ ‘Down at the So and So on Somewhere’ and more! From Berlin, have a listen to Sirkut Son‘s ‘You Have Used Me for Long Enough’ and On A Crac‘s ‘Hash & Moonshine’, off his debut EP Massive.
