Albertine Sarges – Free Today

Berlin native, Holly Herndon collaborator and recent Moshi Moshi signing, Albertine Sarges shares her first solo single with the world, in the form of life-affirming, deconstructed pop song, ‘Free Today’. Comprising a collage of single takes recorded at home – “I looped the guitars on a sunny morning in my nightgown” – it’s the perfect antidote to any self-loathing, neurosis or frustration you may be feeling this Monday morning. Albertine’s recently-recorded debut album is due later this year.

From TSHA‘s shuffling and irresistible ‘Sister’, to the return of Sevdaliza with ‘Habibi’, check out this week’s Tracks of the Week offerings in full below. Don’t miss Angel Olsen returning to her roots in the sparse, bittersweet ‘Waving, Smiling’, or one of our New Sounds 2020 artists, Arlo Parks, making you bop to her jazz-pop more than ever on ‘Hurt’. In addition to Albertine, GRETA, Sirkut Son, and Wolfgang Tillmans represent Berlin well this week.
