TRACK OF THE WEEK
Grimes – So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth
Grimes is one of the artists from which you should always expect the unexpected. As such, ‘So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth’, the latest single from the upcoming album, Miss Anthropocene, takes a hollow turn versus her sequence of pop-anthems. Eschewing enhanced guitar riffs and pounding drum beats, she instead immerses herself in a daunting world of introspective daze, giving us what might just be her equivalent to Madonna’s ‘Frozen’. Her new album is out February 21st 2020 via 4AD.
It was a very strong week for releases, rich in catchy hooks, new acts and new album announcements, also seeing the return of legends, giving us positive prospects for a good musical year in 2020. From Dais Records’ new signing, Riki‘s ‘Napoleon’ to the brand new (!!!) Ms. Lauryn Hill‘s ‘Guarding The Gates’, of Montreal‘s ‘Peace To All Freaks’ or Berlin-based supergroup Lexodus with their new anthem ‘Lost’. Elsewhere, we hear Gurr‘s cover of Blur’s ‘Beetlebum’, Colin Self‘s new EP Orphans, Zebra Katz‘s ‘IN IN IN’ and more. Here’s the brand new Track of The Week playlist, listen loud and enjoy!
