You should know by now that expecting the conventional from Usted is a bad premise to start with. After his fantastic debut album, Odoro, in 2018, Roberto Miranda is back with a very impromptu offering, Directo en The Famous Gold Watch, a three-song live session recorded and filmed at the aforementioned studio in Berlin.

This new release, compared to the multi-layered, hodgepodge and DIY debut, came very spontaneously. The songs were arranged and recorded within a two-week period, with a band Miranda had formed barely a month beforehand. This resulted in a new approach to the Usted dynamic, where the electronic elements of his music were stripped off, while keeping his own irreverent work with the timple, a traditional five-string instrument from the Canary Islands, and his usual mix of Latin-rooted musical influences.
